Take the dog to a local vet to see if he/she has a microchip.

If the dog does not have a microchip, search your local Craigslist listings and lost pet databases online to see if anyone has posted for a lost dog that meets this dog's description. You may also file a report with your local animal control.

If no one has posted, create a post yourself. Be very careful, though, as many people may claim to be the owners. Always require some sort of proof such as photos.

If no one responds to the post, reach out to friends and family who may be interested in adopting a dog. Social media channels are a great way to share photos and videos of the dog.

Please note that although we will do our best to place the dog in a home as fast as possible. We may ask that you consider fostering it for a few weeks until we secure a family.
