*** I am fostered in Danbury, North Carolina. Easy, affordable transportation is available.***
My name is Sage. I am 2.5 yo and weigh approximately 51 lb. I originally came from a breeder but after going to a new home, I ended up as a stray and was picked up by the County Animal Shelter. I must have been chasing chickens because the shelter said I'm not good with chickens. I am a herding dog, so I would do better with older children. I'm good with other dogs. The rescue does not have any cats, so I don't know if I'm good with cats or not. I'm on the shy side with new people until I get to know them. My foster says that I will put my head on her lap to be petted. I enjoy being petted, but I am not a snuggler. I am also sort of skittish and don't like loud noises. I am house trained. When I came in to the rescue I was afraid of leashes and getting into the car. I'm much better with both of these now. My foster says that I have a medium energy level and like to sleep in the bedroom on a dog bed. I don't counter surf and bark very little unless there's something to bark at. My foster says that I am very, very smart! I love to play outside and will play with other dogs that like to play. I'm looking for a quiet, calm household where I can get lots of exercise and a job to do. Since I am so smart, I need a job to do and to keep my mind occupied. I would be great for agility training and any type of advanced training. I want to please, I just need someone patient to work with me and teach me.
