Maggie

*** Maggie is fostered in Danbury, North Carolina.  Transportation is available.***

Hi! My name is Maggie! I was born 2/14/19 and weigh 53 pounds. I was purchased as a puppy  from a breeder  and then later surrender to the rescue because my family did not realize how much time and care was involved in taking care of my exercise and grooming needs. I was extremely matted  when I came into the rescue, so the last two pictures of me are after being groomed . I had to be shaved down completely . The first two pictures show my full coat . I was raised with children, but my previous owner said that I would not be good in a family with young children because I will jump on them and knock them over when I get excited. The foster says that I do not jump on them but will simply lean into them, and will sometimes reach out with my paw to ask to be petted. I'm extremely sweet and loving! I love everybody I meet!  I really enjoy being around someone  all the time. When my fosters leave, I will put my paws in the window  and watch until they drive away. I am not destructive when they leave. I love to go for car rides , but sometimes  and want to be partially in your lap then also.  I get along great with all the other dogs in my foster home , and have been exposed to all sizes and ages. I would love a home with another dog  in it to play with!  I am pretty much house trained  as long as you remember to take me out. I play very gently with the younger dogs in my foster home. I do counter surf, but stop when you tell me no. I don't bark much. I walk well on a leash, but get so excited that I lean into you for more affection. I also love to play and I need a lot of daily exercise! I'm a great companion,  just very much in need of basic obedience training and plenty of daily exercise. I am ready and waiting to go to my new forever home!
